07.11.2016 - Ground-breaking start at Addenbrooke’s

This time last week the Outpatients’ at Addenbrooke’s Hospital were given a reason to smile when news broke that local business Mick George Ltd were to fund a new garden specifically for Outpatients, with work set to get underway immediately.

And boy has it! The transformation within the first week has been incredible, and certainly wets the appetite for what’s to follow.

What was an overgrown plantation that covered the entire floor space, has been stripped back to its bare bones to reveal a true reflection of what the space entails.

Week one was about completing minor Demolition and Earthworks, with Diggers, Dumpers and Rotavators all in action preparing the site. The existing concrete flower bed that lay central to the existing landscape has been broken out, with soils, slabs and stone also removed, and the base split, ready for a new foundation to be installed.

What was previously a visual eyesore, is now an airy space ready for the makeover to continue. Watch this space!
