Fulbourn Tennis Courts
The multi-use Recreation Ground in Fulbourn, Cambridgeshire has benefitted from a £19,000 grant from local construction specialist Mick George Ltd, which has permitted a comprehensive overhaul of the existing Tennis facilities at the site.
After 20-years of public use, the two dilapidated courts were causing safety concerns, consequently prompting the local Parish Council to take action.
Significant groundworks have been completed, incorporating a much more practical and safer surface for participants to experience. The nets, posts and court markings have all been upgraded, and new visitor seating areas added to the surrounds.
Patricia Newman, Clerk at Fulbourn Parish Council said: ‘’It’s early days but we’ve already received lots of positive feedback in regard to the much-improved facilities. It’s an area for the entire community to enjoy, hopefully encouraging greater participation and social interaction. We’re grateful to Mick George Ltd for their contribution, as without their support, the project would not have been possible’’
Stuart Costello, Marketing Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The huge variety of sports that take place at Fulbourn Recreation Ground clearly demonstrates how important the location is to nearby residents. We’re pleased to have played a part in further enhancing the location as well as promoting healthier living for the local community.’’
