Free Kicks Foundation Shirt Auction
January 1st, 2018 was a memorable occasion for Free Kicks Foundation as the Charity saw its logo proudly displayed across the jersey of Peterborough United FC.
The New Years Day’ fixture was aptly recognised as Free Kicks Day, as it culminated a period of activity over the festive season to generate much needed funds and awareness for the Charity.
Following the match, each of the shirts were placed online for auction, which as you would expect sparked a flurry of bids’ from the POSH faithful. During the next seven-days, a total of £4,500 was accumulated for the memorabilia.
The funds’ donated will enable Free Kicks to continue its fantastic work in providing children with wonderful opportunities in association with the football club.
Steve Thorpe, Free Kicks Foundation said: ‘’We would like to thank everybody who showed an interest in the auction and especially those Posh fans who eventually managed to land themselves a shirt. We were proud to meet the majority of those very generous people ahead of the recent home game with Oldham Athletic FC.’’
Thorpe continued: ‘’We would also like to show our appreciation to everyone at Peterborough United FC who made Free Kicks Day possible, as well as Mick George Ltd who very kindly allowed us to take over the prominent space on the shirts’ for the day.’’
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The front of shirt offers a great location for exposure, hence its inclusion within our partnership with Peterborough United FC. We’ve witnessed first-hand the many benefits associated, and are glad that it has proven equally as positive for Free Kicks’.’’
Stump Continued: ‘’Much like ourselves, Free Kicks’ frequently utilise their connection with the Club’ to offer money can’t buy experiences for fans, and for that, their efforts should be applauded.’’
