Northampton Town FC Fun Day

Ahead of the Cobblers' starting the new season at the dizzy heights of League 1, Saturday 23rd July 2016, saw them open their gates at Sixfields for a day of fun and games!

A host of activities were planned for the Family Fun Day, with fans getting their first glimpse of the new replica home kit, new signings and the revitalised Mick George Family Enclosure.

The day kicked off at 10am with spectators being given the opportunity to enjoy an open training session, as manager Rob Page and his staff put the first team squad through their paces. The squad will also tested their ability by taking on the Mick George ‘Skip Challenge’ that Cobblers fans will enjoy as the new half time entertainment for all home fixtures.

Cobblers fans didn't just watch the action; they were encouraged to take part as well; participating in a penalty shoot out on the pitch against the first team squad, while all Gullivers Junior Cobblers members were welcomed on to the pitch to play in a special match against the first team.

The League 2 trophy was on show in the Grosvenor 1897 Suite for supporters to have their picture taken, while the players also met supporters for photos and autographs.

Plenty of stalls and fun activities for the entire family took place throughout the day, and included in the line up were visits from Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue, Northamptonshire Police, a bouncy castle, face painting and a chance to take on the brand new Mick George ‘Inflatable Shootout’.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’We had a brilliant time at the Northampton Town fun day, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with everyone connected to the club before the real action gets underway next month.’’

Stump Continued: ‘’It’s rare that supporters are able to get as close to their footballing idols, let alone play alongside or get on the hallowed turf, so it’s a credit to the club for organising such an event.’’
