Boston Tea Party - Queen's 90th Birthday
While rain soaked spectators took to ‘The Mall’ in London over the weekend to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday, tributes were also being made throughout the country, not least in Boston.
The weekend saw the town transformed into a procession of party activities, ranging from Queen Lookalike competitions, teddy bear parades and even royal teddy bears abseiling down the iconic stump. The occasion culminated in a traditional street party in the Market Place, whereby 90 specially invited guests enjoyed a spectacular tea party.
The local community certainly appeared to enjoy the festivities, as they brought along their Deck Chairs and Picnics, taking in the atmosphere created by the see of bunting, flags and live music entertainment dating back to the 1920’s.
Having recently begun operation in and around the Boston region after opening a new site in the town, Mick George Ltd were keen to support the event with the complimentary provision of numerous waste bins, taking care of the collection and disposal of all waste from the day.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd said: ‘’The Queens birthday is always a special occasion but her 90th is a landmark moment in history. We were pleased to be involved in such a fabulous occasion, where we could showcase our services but also engage in a positive way with the local community.’’
