Amazon Children's Ward Easter Visit
Five members of the Peterborough United FC playing squad, the Clubs’ Chief Executive Officer and mascot, as well as representation from official kit sponsor Mick George Ltd were present at Peterborough City Hospital yesterday, making a special visit to the Amazon Children’s Ward to hand out chocolate eggs to patients ahead of the Easter break.
Skipper Alex Woodyard, goalkeeper Conor O’ Malley, defender Jason Naismith, and midfielders Louis Reed and Callum Cooke, were joined by Peter Burrow and Mick the Skip, and spent time chatting to patients who are due to spend time receiving care and treatment over the Easter holiday.
As well as accepting gifts, the patients were able to meet some of their football idols and the chance to get memorable photographs and autographs.
Jon Stump, Joint CEO at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’Our visit to the local hospital is an annual occurrence, whether it be for Christmas, Easter or any other opportunity. The momentary relief and joy that the patients experience during the visit, certainly makes it all the more worthwhile. It shouldn’t be forgotten the wonderful work that staff at the Hospital do all year round in a pressured environment.’’
