Cambridge United FC New Kit
The strength of the partnership between Cambridge United FC and Mick George Ltd has been further reiterated today, as the two combined in a unique fashion to unveil the U’s new home replica kit for the 2017/2018 campaign.
Such unveilings are traditionally completed at somewhat different locations, club shops, stadiums or local shopping malls, spring to mind. But, this launch was done in a slightly more unique fashion.
A selection of Cambridge United players, Leon Legge, Greg Taylor, and Medy Elito, separately took to the streets of Cambridge doing a spot of ‘moonlighting’.
Supported by club sponsor, Mick George Ltd, each club representative, wearing the full kit, travelled the town in one of Mick George’s iconic tipper vehicles, visiting local residents and fans to gain feedback on the new strip.
In additional to the modeling duties, the players partook in a spot of ‘bulk bag’ delivery operations, testing different skillsets during the close-season. Video footage of the expeditions can be viewed at the official Mick George Ltd website and social media channels.
Some comparisons were drawn on the similarity of design to yesteryear. Features include the Club’s traditional amber and black colours, as well as seasonal half tone Ascension stripe sublimation on the front of shirt, as well as a stylised ribbed crew neck collar for increased comfort.
Manufactured by Puma, the new shirt is made from lightweight polyester with moisture wicking technology and will once again carry the branding of Club sponsors Mick George Ltd.
The new kit is available to the Amber Army for pre-order in-store and online now!
Jon Stump, Finance Director of Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’Despite the recent completion of the previous season, I’m sure the clubs’ supporters are itching to get back in to competitive action and will hope to go one step further, and achieve promotion, this time around.’’
Stump continued: ‘’The kit launch marks a fresh start, and gives supporters good reason to get excited, and start thinking ahead to the forthcoming season. The club have already been active in the transfer market, and I’m certain that’s a sign of their intent for new season. As ever, Mick George Ltd will do whatever we can to back them’’.
