The Mick George Group supply Concrete to Johnson’s of Oldhurst Crocodile Enclosure

The Mick George Group recently supplied Johnson’s of Oldhurst with over 100m3 of RC45 concrete to extend their tropical enclosure. Due to the high temperatures in the tropical reptile buildings, laying the concrete was an arduous task.

The specially formulated concrete has been shaped to look like large boulders around the edge of the water for the crocodiles to enjoy laying on in the humid environment.

The new enclosure is home to several saltwater crocodiles, just some of the 50 crocodiles on site, with some growing to a size of over 10ft long and over 200kg. The new area isn’t fully open yet with more tanks planned. The team were fortunate enough to have a close up preview of the area, getting within touching distance of the crocodiles!

The zoological gardens are now open so why not head on over and experience for yourself? Find out more at Johnson’s of Oldhurst website.
