Community Fund RD4 2020
Despite current restrictions on many of our community amenities, we all live in hope that normality will soon resume and we can start to enjoy the freedom and pleasure of the various facilities in our local areas once again.
Pleasingly, it seems that operators in control of these locations are using this time to make upgrades for the returning public and four fortunate beneficiaries have been supported with a financial donation from construction specialists, the Mick George Group.
The four groups which are spread across multiple counties in which the construction firm operates, will each share a pot of £70,984.
This grant takes the annual 2020 Community Fund donation nearing £350,0000 from the Mick George Group.
Since the initiation of the scheme, more the 150 separate initiatives have received more than £4million.
Those fortunate enough to have received backing include:
- Mepal Parish Council: Upgrades: Drainage and surface renovation to recreation field (£25,835)
- 7th/8th Cambridgeshire Scout Group FSE: Campsite Safety, Security and Equipment (£22,542)
- Desborough Library and Community Hub: Lighting upgrade (£11,607)
- Hunstanton Bowls Club: Green and equipment maintenance (£11,000)
