Community Fund RD3

As local communities have been granted permissions to increase social interactions and use of recreational facilities from UK Government following a sustained period of lockdown, residents will be glad to know that some popular, nearby attractions have been supported with financial donations to make significant enhancements.

Having already donated £226,000 in the opening two rounds of their annual ‘Community Fund’ scheme, construction specialists the Mick George Group, has followed up with more goodwill, taking total grant support beyond £275,000 for 2020.

This time around, three separate beneficiaries throughout the Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, and Huntingdonshire regions, will each share part of the most recent £49,522 financial gift.

While full normality hasn’t yet reconvened and who knows if it ever will, each of the respective Groups driving the fortunate initiatives will be looking to progress the projects in question through to completion, so that each of the respective facilities can be enjoyed in their entirety when possible.

Since the initiation of the scheme, more the 145 separate beneficiaries have received more than £4million.

Those fortunate enough to have received backing include:

Peterborough:
– Nene Park Trust: Wildlife and Recreation Enhancement Measures – Sports Pitches (£13,000)

Cambridge:
– Chesterton Indoor Bowling Club: Obsolete Pitch Lighting Replacement Upgrades (£20,522)

Huntingdonshire:
– Houghton & Wyton Parish Council: Restoration of Houghton Cemetery Lychgate and War Memorial (£15,000)
