22.06.2016 - Cobblers strike new sponsorship with Mick George Ltd

Having comfortably achieved promotion after finishing Champions of League 2, Northampton Town Football Club have been busy in the close-season preparing for life back at the higher tier and the club has recently formed a new Waste Management partnership with local business Mick George Ltd.
The construction company that specialises in Skip Hire, Concrete, Aggregate Supply as well as Earthworks and Demolition services has become the Official Sponsor of the new Family Enclosure, in addition to landing the commercial waste contract, which will see them taking care of all waste from the Sixfields Stadium for the next three years.

With the inevitable increase in attendances at Sixfields for the forthcoming season, the subsequent waste service requirements will intensify, with the club confident Mick George Ltd will meet their exacting standards.

The last time the club achieved promotion in to League One was back in the 2005/06 season, so it’s sure to be a memorable season ahead for supporters with the visit of a number of clubs with a rich footballing heritage.

The partnership will see Mick George Ltd providing matchday entertainment for fans at all home fixtures including the Mick George Half-time Skip Challenge and appearances from their mascot Mick the Skip Mascot, as well as the Cheerleaders on special occasions.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’We are extremely proud to be working alongside Northampton Town FC in what is an exciting time for the club. Northamptonshire is a region that we operate as a business and we are keen to build strong relationships with the local community.’’

Stump Continued: ‘’The club has just completed a major achievement which has had a positive impact on the whole town. As with our other sporting arrangements, we are hoping to bring something new to the table that will add to the traditional matchday experience for the supporters to enjoy.’’

Northampton Town Chairman Kelvin Thomas added: “We are delighted to be working with Mick George Ltd for the coming season.
“Having added the seats to the East Stand towards the end of last season, what is particularly exciting for us is to have the Family Enclosure back open in the East Stand, and to have the support of Mick George Ltd in this is particularly appreciated.
“We saw significant growth in attendances last season, and we are expecting the same again in 2016/17, so to be able to welcome our ever expanding base of young supporters back to the Mick George Family Enclosure is fantastic news and a real step forward for the matchday experience.
“We are really looking forward to working with Mick George Ltd and are very grateful for their support.”
