Christmas Jumper Day 2017
It’s the most magical time of the year - fairy lights, baubles, snowmen and Christmas Trees. And on 15th December, each and everyone of us get the opportunity to showcase our festive highlights on our jumpers in aid of charity. All are encouraged to go BIG and go BOLD, its Christmas.
National Christmas Jumper Day traditionally supports ‘Save the Children’ Charity, and could be the difference between a hot meal or no meal. It can bring essential healthcare, education, protection and food to millions of children around the world who are in desperate need of these basic necessities.
All over the country, thousands of people will be sporting their daftest, most wonderful woollies, for a great cause. Colleagues, classmates, neighbours, friends and family won’t need any excuse to flaunt their fabulous knits.
One never to miss out, is the office staff at Mick George Ltd who have certainly got in to the celebratory spirit while raising a fantastic contribution for two local charities who they have vowed to support throughout 2017, Macmillan Cancer Support and British Heart Foundation.
If previous years are anything to go by, the office will become a wash of Santa’s, Snowmen, Elf’s and various other synonymous Christmas characters.
Employees will each make a small donation of £2 for the privilege to share the experience of wearing their Christmas Jumpers, whist the ‘Scrooge’s’ within the business will each face a financial forfeit for declining the opportunity.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’Throughout the years, the business has supported a number of charitable events, all of which have been driven by office staff without any encouragement.’’
Stump Continued: ‘’The staff have made a wonderful effort and definitely brought a festive atmosphere to the office, and all for a wonderful cause.’’
