If ever you questioned whether Career Open Days are a worthwhile exercise, you need look no further than local man, Aaron Fowler for confirmation.
The Chatteris based self-employed mechanic attended the Careers Open Day at Mick George Ltd only five weeks back and ever since, things have certainly looked up.
Having impressed at the event, Aaron was offered a position at Director, Mick George’s Houghton Hall Alpaca business. His enthusiasm and commitment shone through and was rewarded, when only 4 weeks later Aaron was presented with the opportunity to undertake his theory and medical on the Mick George Driver Academy.
Already possessing a ‘Trailer License’, Aaron was no stranger to the industry. A week of intense training with instructor, Kevin Stocking followed, and pleasingly for all involved, Aaron passed first time and has now obtained is Class 2 license.
Aaron Fowler commented: “I am over the moon to have passed first time. I would like to thank my trainer, for all of his hard work and patience. He is an excellent teacher and really took the time out to make sure I fully understood everything. I’m eagerly awaiting my first day as a Tipper Driver and hope to have a long and prosperous career at Mick George Ltd. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.”
This wasn’t the only example of those who benefitted from attending the Career Open Day. In addition to the ten candidates who were awarded immediate employment, a further ten have subsequently been taken on in various positions.

We have a number of vacancies available throughout the business and are continuously on the lookout for talented individuals to fill these positions.’’
