British Heart Foundation Partnership Concludes
The Charity Partnership between the British Heart Foundation and Mick George Ltd has come to a close with the local construction company raising a tremendous £8,076 throughout the year.
After vowing to support both the British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support in 2017 / 2018, Mick George Ltd’s staff fundraising efforts were equally split between the two causes.
Throughout the year, staff were encouraged to ‘challenge themselves’ in a variety of scenarios, whether it be mental or physical challenges, or even life-long habits that they wished to tackle. The Company also participated in National fundraising events at Head Office and site locations, organised Charity Football matches, and held themed fundraising days in order to boost the overall total funds.
However, as the saying goes ‘all good things must come to an end’, and with a commendable amount generated for the Charity, it was certainly a worthwhile exercise for both parties. The monies raised have gone towards local projects, specifically for completing clinical works at Addenbrookes Hospital.
Stuart Costello, Marketing Director at Mick George Ltd commented: “Ever since the launch of the split-partnership for the 2017/18 Charity of the Year, we noticed an increase in staff participation and willingness to get involved in charitable activities.”
Costello continued: “The work that The British Heart Foundation is truly remarkable, so to be able to give something back to the Charity which takes so much care in providing the best possible support and research into coronary heart disease, is something we’re proud to have been a part of. Although the formal partnership has finished, we’ve already agreed to supporting forthcoming events on an ad-hoc basis.”
