11.04.2016 - Always wanted to lead the U's out at the Abbey Stadium?
As the season’s finale draws closer, Cambridge United FC and their supporters are set for a nail biting run in as the club hopes to secure a play off place in their quest for promotion. Currently just 3 points outside the top seven, the remaining fixtures at the Abbey Stadium are going to be crucial if the team can achieve its goal.
With all encouraged to get behind the U's, main sponsor Mick George Ltd are providing one lucky young Cambridge United supporter the opportunity to lead the team onto the pitch against Plymouth in the penultimate match of the season.
The selected mascot will join the team on the pitch for a warm up and then lead the team out onto the pitch before kick-off. Other highlights will include meeting the players, having a tour of the changing rooms and collecting autographs and photographs.
The complimentary offer will also include two adult tickets for parents or guardians and one additional ticket for a sibling or friend.
All you have to do to enter the competition is nominate a child you think deserves to be the Cambridge United mascot and say why in the entry.
Jon Stump, Finance Director of Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’Throughout the season we have engaged with the Cambridge United fans in various ways to try and improve the match-day experience where ever possible.‘’
Stump continued: ‘’It was a frustrating start to the season for the clubs fans but their fantastic support hasn’t waivered and we are keen to reward their loyalty by giving something back. The mascot initiative was something we did at the beginning of the season and the response was very positive.’’
