About the Living Sport Fund

The Mick George Sports Fund is run in association with Living Sport, a charity which specialises in improving the health and well-being of people through participation in sport and physical activity. More information on Living Sport can be found here.

The Mick George Sports Fund has £50,000 available annually, to local sports clubs that meet the necessary qualifying criteria. In order to submit an application, all projects must be located within Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

The minimum amount that can be applied for is £500, up to a maximum of £1,500.

Living Sport is a local charity dedicated to improving the health and well being of the people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough through participation in sport and physical activity.

They are passionate about ensuring that everyone has access to opportunities to participate whatever their circumstances.

Mick George Ltd, an employer of more than 1,000 local people, supplying an abundance of products and services to the Cambridgeshire region and beyond. The business has an affiliation with many local sports clubs, from a wide variety of sports genres; including Professional Clubs' - Peterborough United FC & Cambridge United FC.

The business already donates more than £800,000 annually through its dedicated 'Communty Fund' to projects and initiatives in its operating areas, but the new Sports Fund' is targeted towards Sports specific developments seeking financial assistance.

There will be £60,000 available annually, which will be open to applications during six, bi-monthly application rounds.

There are no limits to the number of applications, but an application can only be submitted once.

£10,000 will be awarded each round at the discretion of a panel of representatives from Living Sport and Mick George Ltd.

Round Dates as follows:

* Jan 1st - Feb 25th
* Mar 1st - Apr 25th
* May 1st - Jun 25th
* Jul 1st - Aug 25th
* Sep 1st - Oct 25th
* Nov 1st - Dec 25th

- Successful submissions announced on the last day of each month

The grant' is available to all sports projects that are open to the general public, and must be for a tangible-asset of some description - IE; Changing Room Improvements, Equipment, Facility Maintenance, or Training and Practice provisions.

Exclusions - Member Exclusive Clubs / Commercial Organisations / Staff, Training or Travel Costs / Kits 

The Mick George Sports Fund provides grants for capital community sports projects, that will provide improvement works to amenities.
