30 Station Road
One of the latest developments within the new CB1 community is at 30 Station Road whereby local firm Mick George Ltd will shortly commence Earthworks on behalf of R.G Carter ahead of the creation of 7 floors of flexible office accommodation.
The 79,000sq. ft contemporary building, described as ‘cube within a cube’ has been subject to offer to Apple, who are seemingly ramping up their Cambridge based research hub by moving to premises which are eight times the size of its current base at 90 Hills Road.
The new building is not scheduled for completions for two-to-three years, but the intent is seen as a major endorsement of Cambridge’s talent pool and acquisitional opportunities.
Apple first put down roots in Cambridge in October 2015 through the acquisition of VocalIQ, a move that has been seen as a critical one in the development of Apples speech recognition technology, SIRI. The latest office move by the company could signal further advancements in this area.
30 station road is positioned opposite Microsoft Research and adjacent to other major upgrades that are concurrent within the Station Road region.
Michael George, Managing Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The Station Road development is home to many multinational blue-chip companies, due to the prominent location and easy commuter accessibility.’’
George continued: ‘’As a local business, we’re proud to be playing a part in building the infrastructure that will sustain the growth of more technology based firms operating in the City.’’
